Barton: Can we feel safe in a crowd anymore? I like this commentary on the tragic event in Colorado and the natural human response to thrusting horrific event. At any time, anywhere, we are vulnerable to attack by deranged people. We must always be vigilant, but not scared. We should know the entrances and exits of any establishment. More importantly, we must be aware of our surroundings and listen to our intuition when something doesn’t feel right. These things would not have prevented the Colorado massacre, but they just might save you in a similar situation. Always be aware. Do not be complacent just because it is a familiar surrounding. It is sad, but true, that we must be vigilant in the world we live in.
